FIFA Online for your computer: EA Sports Announces Release

by matt on May 24, 2010

A free PC game by Electronic Arts (EA Sports) has recently been announced.  The makers of the FIFA video game will release it online in June 2010.  It is currently in beta mode and is being tested by players.  Their feedback will help the developers make necessary changes prior to the open beta mode in June.

The game, EA Sports FIFA Online, will be released internationally in several stages.  FIFA Online will hit shelves as the English language version in June.  The following two years they plan to launch the product in other languages in North America and Europe.

The online game will offer more than 15,000 players from 500 teams and 30 leagues.  Two interesting points to note are that the closed beta stage currently features a 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa tournament mode and can only be controlled by using a mouse.  The second stage of closed beta features a League Mode where fans can play online matches while managing their favorite soccer team.  In managing a team, gamers can build a dream team by acquiring or creating players and upgrading skills.  The game centers around building up your favorite team to be the best in the world.

In addition to these great features, players can obtain new apparel through in-game currency.  Other features of the game will be based on the feedback from current beta mode players.
